Focused Five
This poster serves as a visual guide for children on how to concentrate properly during class.
Teachers can use the poster to remind children of the basic elements of concentration: the head is focused, the ears are listening, the eyes are watching, the body is still and the mouth is quiet. The poster can be used to practice concentration and later be hung in the classroom as a constant reminder of what attentive behaviour should look like. It can also be used as part of introducing rules for maintaining appropriate behaviour during lessons. Posters can be used with younger and older pupils. They promote expected behaviours in pupils and are based on the PBIS Positive Behaviour Support System. You can find out more about PBIS, other free materials and training here.
