We introduced the media to the principles of a trauma-informed approach

23 April 2024

This week, in the presence of many lovely guests, we presented to journalists the importance of a trauma-sensitive approach in supporting traumatised children.
Trauma is a response to a negative experience that can have long-term effects on children's development. At a press conference in Karlín Barracks, we talked about how we can strengthen children's resilience and help them cope better with stressful situations. The very stimulating panel discussion on this topic was attended by peer consultant Patrik Buday, who participated in the development of the content of the training and methodological materials, school psychologist Kristýna Šeniglová, Branislava Marvánová Vargová from the ROSA organisation, the headmistress of the Bečov Primary School and Kindergarten Marcela Kynclová, and Tomáš Trajer from Fokus České Budějovice.
"Our goal is to provide support to children with traumatic experiences in schools and other institutions to help mitigate the consequences of trauma. Children can then better develop their potential and live a happy life," said our chairperson, Lenka Felcmanová.
In addition to the principles of a trauma-informed approach, we also presented our training to support the implementation of this approach in practice. We thank all participating media for their support in spreading the word about the importance of a trauma-informed approach to children and adolescents.

This project was co-funded by European Union.
